National Forest Service and Northland College has just started a joint effort to remove the invasive species Yellow Flag Iris around Lake Owen before it enters the water because it pushes out the native water plants.  The Lake Owen Association is asking  Lake Owen residents to check their shorelines for Yellow Flag Iris which should be blooming in the next couple of weeks.  If lake residents find Yellow Flag Iris on their property, we are requesting they alert Lake Owen Association members below and give approval to have the NFS and Northland College teams to remove the plants.

They may call or email either:  Tom Johnson 715-739-6647 or Bill Hannaford   715-739-6384
