The mission of the Lake Owen Association (LOA) is to protect and preserve Lake Owen. The LOA Board of Directors, in conjunction with Lake Manager Cheryl Clemens and Lake Scientist Steve Schieffer, are working diligently to maintain the pristine nature of Lake Owen, which has been described as “Wisconsin’s Healthiest Lake.”
We firmly believe that each of the LOA activities delivers critical value to the owners and residents of Lake Owen. Membership dues do not cover the costs to protect Lake Owen. In fact, dues account for only 10-15% of annual expenditures. The remaining funds are derived from donations (30%) and grants (54%), which are awarded on a competitive basis and therefore not a reliable source of funding. The Board has established an endowment fund and is working to solicit contributions to the fund. Earnings from the endowment will be used to fund protection and preservation activities in periods when traditional funding sources fall short.
Therefore, your LOA Board of Directors respectfully asks that you consider a contribution to the Lake Owen Association that exceeds the annual membership dues of $50. As a 501(C)(3) organization, contributions to the Lake Owen Association are fully tax deductible.
Thank you in advance for your generous support of the Lake Owen Association!
Sincerely,
Amy Louis, President
Bill Hannaford, Treasurer
