Day hike the Porcupine Lake-18 Mile Springs Pond Loop

On Thursday, August 8, 2024, the Lake Owen Association will sponsor a day hike where participants will meet at 9:00 a.m. on the Porcupine Lake North Country Trail Trailhead which is 1.5 miles east of N. Lake Owen Drive.  From the trailhead, the group will hike down the trail to Porcupine Lake, then hike westbound on North Country Trail past 18 Mile Spring Pond, cross 18 Mile Creek back to Porcupine Lake Road, and a short road back to the cars, about 3.5 mile loop.  The trail is mostly flat with gently rolling terrain at times except for a steep climb up the hill west of 18 Mile Creek Springs.  Please wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots, bring rain gear if precipitation is in the forecast, treat your clothing with Permethrin the day before according to directions, bring a camera and some water.
