Northland student Tim Manus and Matt Hudson, a water scientist at the Mary Griggs Burke Center for Freshwater Innovation, made a trip down to Lake Owen yesterday. Tim Manus took aerial drone photos of the entire lake using a few different stops around the lake. The photos are expected to allow them to target specific areas this summer where they will look for groundwater seepage into the lake. The next step for their work in 2017 will be to collect water samples shortly after the ice goes off Lake Owen. Tim Manus owns the drone and is starting up his own aerial photography business if you need that service.
